Greyson Supports Gay and Lesbian Cause

Hi All!

Greyson was in Washington D.C. last Saturday (10/1/11) to perform at the 15th Annual Human Rights Campaign Dinner in Washington D.C. President Obama was the key note speaker and Greyson performed Purple Sky.

The event was to commemorate the hard work done in support of gay, lesbian, transgendered and bisexual civil rights.

Obama and Bloomberg are just about my least favorite people on the planet.
But Cyndi Lauper and Greyson are the tops in my book.
The Cause is what counts, so props to them all.

Cyndi is there because she is lesbian and a long time LGBT supporter.
Greyson because he experienced some bullying at school which made him aware of the plight of other kids who suffered worse than he did.
Many were young gays who were so persecuted that they killed themselves.
Greyson wrote "Purple Sky", with Danielle Dubois, to give courage to kids being victimised and to commemorate those who had committed suicide.
These latter are movingly listed at the end of the song.


To Greyson's great credit, this was entirely his own initiative.
It show that he has an awareness and a kind-heartedness which even outshine his wonderful musical talents.
